What causes hair to gray, other than age?

so your hair fades and turns gray as we get older, we all know this. But what causes your body to stop producing the pigment that gives us our hair color when you get older?
Is it a chemical imbalance or hormonal decrease or something like that?
what happens is that ur DNA is always being copied. but it turns gray because, well, it’s just like a copier running out of color ink.
..Dunno the answer to mst your questions on there, but stress can cause grey/white hair.
