Cummins powered F350

1990 F350 4×4 re-powered with a 2005 Cummins TD. Cause of more gray hair but pulls my 68 Cougar to the track with ease (and much better gas milage).

I really enjoyed this video, mainly the idea. It’s been done before of coarse, but usually not such a new engine! There’s alot of electronics to work with. I have several questions I’d like to ask. Because I’m doing similar things to my collection of Fords. What transmission? Any adaptor? Electronics complications? Easy bolt up to Ford Engine Mount Location or special Fabrication?

Well, I can’t imagine the E4OD (even with all the mods) will hold up forever. I’ve kicked the idea around of doing a 6 speed or the Allison, probably would lean toward the 6 speed…

I had to notch it on the drivers side where the computer sits, if I would have gone with a older engine then no notching. The harness came out of the original truck and it’s got the E4OD in it with a Baumann controller… Thanks.

    I don’t know why …
I don’t know why this rumor still exists. Ford had stock in Cummins the the ’90′s, but it was bought back by Cummins a couple years later.

Ford has never, and will never own Cummins. They are customers, and nothing more. In fact, misinformed people have been spreading this rumor so much, Cummins had to explain this in the FAQ section of their website.

I try my hardest to refrain from posting YouTube comments, but this is one of the few that bother me.

Well, thanks. Just to clarify you can get a Cummins in a new Ford. You just need to buy an F650 or bigger….but you can also get a CAT, which would be my preference if I had the money.
