In this dirty old part of the city
Where the sun refuse to shine
People tell me there ain’t no use in trying
Now my girl you’re so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true
You’ll be dead before your time is due
I know
Watch my daddy in bed and tired
Watch his hair been turning gray
He’s been working and slaving his life away
Oh yes, I know it
He’s been working so hard
I’ve been working too babe
Every night and day
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
We gotta get out of this place
If its the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
‘Cause girl, there’s a better life
For me and you
Now my girl you’re so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true, yeah
You’ll be dead before your time is due
I know it
Watch my daddy in bed and tired
Watch his hair been turning gray
He’s been working and slaving his life away
I know
He’s been working so hard
I’ve been working too babe
Every day baby
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
We gotta get out of this place
If its the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Girl, there’s a better life
For me and you
Somewhere baby
Somehow I know it baby
We gotta get out of this place
If its the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
Girl, there’s a better life for me and you
Believe me baby
I know it baby
You know it too

Off to watch the Superbowl! Will be back later to answer questions.
So, I molded Catacomb Crawler for the first time and I did the 2nd layer today. Should have a mask very soon. I’ll be drawing out a paint scheme that I have in mind. Hopefully I won’t forget to post that in the next video.
Protocol #0. Video update on that guy soon. Not entirely sure if it’s going to be Protocol #0 anymore. The nose of the armature is preventing me from sculpting Protocol #0. I may just make some random full head mask, cut off the nose, and then make Protocol #0. Or I could just pack on more clay so I can sculpt protocol #0 the way I want. I don’t know. We’ll see what I come up with.
Anyways, I will post the 2nd part of the meaning of “Catacomb Crawler” below.
(see previous video for ‘part 1′ of the mask meaning.)
Mask meaning:
RIGHT EYE: Hopeless eye searching for what can not be found.
LEFT EYE: Represents sort of a quasimodo look. This is how he thinks people see him. Societys perspective of a homeless man. Society isolates the “ugly”.
BOTTOM LIP/CHIN: Beard. He had one. It was all over the place haha. They say, stress is the main cause of gray hair. He had a lot of gray hair.
EXPRESSION: Fright. Not knowing whats going to happen to him. He walks the streets everyday He probably doesnt sleep in the same place. He doesnt know where hes going to sleep.
Its rough for the life of a homeless dude. People in society seem to treat all homeless people the same. eww he probably a drug attic, an alchoholic, etc, I dont think people have the right to pass judgement about people that they dont know. People shouldnt jump to conclusions. Peoples cynical opinions dont help make this persons life better.
Hey, if you want to help a homeless person, thats cool. However, dont do the opposite.
If you see a homeless person, dont give them a hard time, if theyre sleeping, dont point and laugh, dont kick dirt on them. Dont do anything cruel or stupid like that because their life is hard enough as it is.
So I guess this mask is ultimately about selflessness.
So the name Catacomb Crawler took awhile to come up with, but it was what made most sense to me. A catacomb is a human made underground passage or subterranean cemetary. When I think of cemetary. I think of a cold place. Metephorically speaking, the city can be a pretty cold place. People are very reactive People will point and stare at anything that is out of the oridinary and of course, if one person says something, its bound to draw attention from other people. People can say some pretty mean and cold things.
Onto the word Crawler. Now crawler meant two things with this mask. First off, crawler is a reference to ranks in society. Ultimately, ranks in society mean where youre at how people see you. There can be ranks as far as wealth, style, or coolfactor or whatever. The homeless are in the lowest possible ranks in societys eyes. They arent wealthy, their clothes arent stylish, and they arent cool. This is societys cold perspective. Theyre seen lower in society than everyone else. They cant walk, they crawl. The 2nd meaning has to do with possessions. The homeless dont have very many possessions. To get anything whether its food, water, or a blanket, they have to crawl. They have to crawl to get food, they have to crawl to get shelter, they have to crawl to get water whereas we can walk. Most people have things like food and water and take those things for guaranteed. So I guess this mask is also about being grateful and being selfless instead of selfish.
This mask took awhile for me to actually complete because I was thinking about it a lot. I wasnt sure what it represented and it took a lot of thought. A lot of self reflection. I have a lot of things that homeless people dont have. Ive taken a lot of time to be grateful for everything I have. Im much more fortunate than others out there. Especially considering what just happened in Haiti. My condolences to those who lost loved ones.
Sorry if this seemed like a little bit of a downer, to bring in some happy news, Ive started sculpting protocol #0. Its sort of a message to smokers. The reason that he is an alien is because Ive heard stories about people that start taking drugs and start smoking and they alienate themselves from their friends to get closer to the drug. Another downer mask haha but hey, its just a problem that I feel like I wanted to address in one of my masks.
More to come on that, Ill give another update video sooner or later and yeah. Stay tuned!

Middle Age Crazy sang by Mike Deal…. This is a great classic from 1977 and the Theme song to the 1980 movie with Bruce Dern and Ann-Margret. Mike does a fantastic job on this Jerry Lee Lewis Great!!
Lyrics
Today he traded his ‘98 Oldsmobile
He got a heck of a deal on a new Porsche car
He isn’t wearing his usual gray business suits
He’s got jeans and high boots with an embroidered star
Cause today he’s 40 years old, going on 20
But don’t look for the gray in his hair
Cause he ain’t got any
He’s got a young thing beside him
That just melts in his hands
And he’s middle aged crazy
Trying to prove he still can
He’s got a woman he’s loved for a long, long time at home
But the thrill is all gone, when they turn down the lights
And today he’s 40 years old, going on 20
And don’t look for the gray in his hair
Cause he ain’t got any
And that young thing beside him, you know she understands
He’s just middle aged crazy
Trying to prove he still can
Yes, he’s middle aged crazy
Trying to prove he still can.
The popular topic of men whose mid-life crises grow with a thickening waistline is handled with snatches of wit and insight in this standard comedy-drama from John Trent. Bobby Lee (Bruce Dern) is beginning to feel hemmed in — his wife (Ann-Margret) has lost some of her appeal and his friends and family keep viewing him like the forty-year-old he will soon be. After his father dies, he is unable to take it anymore, and he hooks up with a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader (Deborah Wakeham) on a trip to that city. He may have traded in his business suite for denim, jeans, and cowboy boots, but he soon finds that a real transformation is not so easy.
